Head of Procurement
Type: Permanent
Hours: Mon-Fri (37 hours a week)
Salary: £56,921 - £69,757
Responsibilities will include:
• Reporting to the Director of Finance, providing leadership and strategic direction through the procurement process
• Ensure the University maintains a best-value approach to procurement in line with legislation and the University’s Financial Regulations
• Lead the development and implementation of a university-wide procurement strategy that aligns with the University’s strategic plan
• Advise on appropriate routes to market, manage complex contract negotiations, and champion strong supplier relationship management
• Create opportunities for strategic supplier engagement with the University
The Person:
• Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) membership, or actively working towards full qualification
• Extensive experience in procurement across a broad range of goods and services, with a proven track record in delivering savings and measurable benefits
• Demonstrated success in developing and implementing process improvements
• In-depth knowledge and expertise in practical procurement within a public sector environment
• Familiarity with the upcoming changes in procurement legislation
