University Hospitals Plymouth are looking to recruit a Project Support Manager to assist with the delivery and support of minor and major capital projects in our Estate Development & Site Management Team. The post holder will work closely with Senior Project Support Managers to ensure that schemes are effectively managed and delivered, drawing on technical expertise from the wider Site Services, Estates teams and consultants. The successful candidate will be involved in the whole project lifecycle, from business case development, design and construction, through to post project evaluation and reporting. Experience in supporting projects, together with construction knowledge and procurement processes will be required, whilst great communication skills, both written and verbal, will be essential to engage with a wide range of stakeholders within the hospital and more widely across Plymouth, Devon, and the South West peninsula.

Main duties of the job
1. Supporting the production of project documentation, issues logs, risk registers, project control reports using Trust documentation and electronic tools ensuring the standardisation and auditability of all deliverables.
2. Using Microsoft project, AutoCAD, PLANET, BIM (Building Information Model) and other computer software to develop, structure and produce project programmes and plans to include all the elements of a complex multifaceted project.
3. Work with operational services to propose best practice changes to service delivery ensuring that healthcare buildings arise from clinical need and evidence-based practice rather than the status quo.
4. Supporting the production of estates and planning documentation, including business cases, option appraisals, post project evaluation, and reports to project Boards, ensuring the standardisation and auditability of all deliverables.
5. To assist in the planning and delivery of all aspects of communication activity for schemes including the use of external media, events, direct communication, public relations, internal communications, media relations and consultation from all stakeholder groups including patients, the public, the local healthcare community and the private sector market.
6. Distilling, determining and preparation of complex option appraisals to include costs, benefits analysis, and service implications culminating in a recommended option.
7. To assist in the production of information and communication material including the printing and circulation of papers, posters, newsletters, presentations, and leaflets.
8. Ensuring effective audit trails of key decisions.
9. Ensuring that project/programme meetings, groups, workshops, and days are planned, prepared, serviced, and formally minuted to maintain an effective audit trail.
