To work as an integral member of the Rheumatology Team.
Support the development of and deliver a high standard of evidence-based clinical practice to patients with rheumatological disease.
Foster multi-disciplinary links to develop shared learning and skills development with other professional groups and ensure the provision of specialist knowledge to all users of the service inside and outside of the organisation.
Main duties of the job
1. Support and contribute to the development of clinical practice and education within the department.
2. Support the Senior Rheumatology Nurse Specialist in the day-to-day running of the department.
3. Be responsible for setting and maintaining high standards of patient care.
4. Abide by / act at all times in line with the NMC Code of Professional Conduct, particularly acknowledging the limitations of staff competence to safeguard the well-being of patients or clients.

Job responsibilities
1. Support Clinical Practice Development in the department, including supporting the role of the research nurse and ensuring data collection is in line with guidance.
2. Provide protocol-led nursing clinics for patients with rheumatological disease meeting standards set by the team.
3. Demonstrate specialist knowledge and skills in the care of patients with rheumatological disease.
4. Act as a resource for staff, patients, and their carers through the entire pathways associated with rheumatological care.
5. Carry out defined clinical requirements of the post in line with local policies and national recommendations.
6. With the team, set standards of care and ensure that nursing practice is audited and research-based, supporting the SafeCare framework.
