Civil Site Supervisor at Walpole 400kV Substation (PE14 7JE)
Job Description Summary
To assist the site manager and supervise the works on site including interfacing with and sensibly monitoring any subcontractors whilst feeding back the necessary information to the site manager.
Duration
2 year project, offer a 6 month rolling contract commencing from 31/03/25
Job Duties
Ensure compliance to CDM regulations on site.
Ensure all setting to work procedures are followed
Ensure works are delivered to a programme whilst maintaining the highest standards of health and safety
Produce reports and provide information in a timely manner
To provide sufficient and timely supervision and guidance to ensure staff and sub-contractors are performing to agreed production levels
To maintain own levels of skill and knowledge to do the job effectively
To perform other duties as directed by your line manager or management team
To comply with the relevant Company HSQE and welfare policy provisions
To support clients and ensure all agreed KPIs are met or exceeded
Promote best practice, capture best practice and ensure it is fed-back into the business.
Lead by example in health, safety, quality & environmental management.
Ensure quality standards are met and maintained throughout the project and assist with the generation of as built drawings
Assist with the implementation of Safe Systems of Work including issuing Permits to Dig
Set others to work and monitor throughout the task / project
Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications
Full UK driving licence
Nation Grid Competent Person NSI 6 & 8 Full
IOSHH Managing Safely or SMSTS or SSSTS
IOSH environmental or equivalent
CSCS or CCNSG Safety Passport
HSG47
First Aid
Minimum 5 years’ experience in the T&D industry in a civil role, preferably on National Grid sites
Previous experience at a supervisory level
Desirable
HNC / HND in civil Engineering
Impressed Voltage training
Temporary Works Coordinator or Supervisor experience
IOSH environmental or equivalent
Physical Requirements
Site based role. Must have the ability to safely maneuverer around a construction site including uneven and rough terrain on foot for up to 10 hours per day.
For the office element they must have the ability to use repetitive hand motion and the ability to grasp and type using general office equipment. Must be able to sit for long periods of time, talk, hear, walk and stand. Must be able to lift and or move up to 10 pounds.

Schedule and Work Activities
50 hours per week, with travel to client offices/sites
Travel
Ability to travel nationally is required for the role. Level of travel may vary over time depending on project and client requirements, but expectation is up to 100% of working time spent travelling per year depending on project location
The induvial should be able to book and arrange all of their own travel and accommodation
