We are seeking an Assistant Buyer to support procurement for our our clients. The right candfidate will play a key role in managing client contracts and assisting the buying team. A proactive attitude and an understanding of ethical procurement will be essential to maintain the high standards expected throughout the supply chain. Key Responsibilities : Procurement Strategy : Contribute to the company's global procurement vision, helping to establish best practices and working toward the goal of becoming a market leader. Collaborate with Senior Management to enhance operational performance. Procurement Process : Source and supply goods/services in line with client Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Meet targets using gainshare/baseline models and negotiate discounts for additional profit. Negotiate with suppliers on costs and payment terms, ensuring quality, delivery, and technical standards are met. Ensure all procurement activities align with company Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental (QHSE) standards and policies. Resolve both internal and external queries efficiently. Provide customs documentation promptly. Explore client surplus stock for all Requests for Quotations (RFQs). Promote eco-friendly alternatives and present them to customers. Regularly collect and act on customer feedback to maintain high satisfaction levels. Keep internal systems updated and foster strong relationships with customers and suppliers. Financial Control : Assist the credit controller in resolving any client or supplier invoice queries swiftly. Customer Focus : Develop an in-depth understanding of client businesses and their contract objectives. Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QHSE) : Stay familiar with the clients's policies on quality, safety, and environmental standards. Encourage the use of sustainable products and contribute to the company's recycling and energy-saving initiatives. Environmental Responsibility : Be aware of the company's environmental management systems and emergency procedures. Support progress towards achieving the company's environmental objectives. Actively implement the company's environmental procurement policy and adopt eco-friendly practices in the office. Qualifications/Training : Previous procurement experience is desirable but not essential. Proficiency in IT systems, including Excel, Crystal Reports, Dynamics GP, and management databases, is required. INDFS
