Our children and young people's ages range from 8 up to 18 years old and they have often experienced high levels of trauma, neglect, and crisis in their young lives, resulting in them experiencing complex challenges. We are looking for a dedicated Children's Registered Home Manager to fulfil a vital priority role within our organisation at our complex, compromising of six independent solo provision bungalow / homes in a private cul-de-sac setting in Telford, Shropshire. Each home is crafted to provide each young person with a sense of security, comfort and independence. What will be expected from you in your role as Children's Registered Home Manager? Recent experience working either as a Children's Home Registered Manager or as a Children's Home Deputy Manager in a Children's Home. Working towards or already achieved Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care Services (Children and Young People's management qualification). Knowledge of safeguarding legislation such as The Children Act 1989 and Children's Home Regulations. Full driving licence and the ability to work flexibly, including on-call duties. You will be responsible for the management of a residential children's home, ensuring high-quality care and safeguarding standards. You will act as a leader and role model for the team, overseeing daily operations, and ensuring the well-being of the children. Lead a team of Residential Care Workers (RCW), ensuring smooth and efficient day-to-day operations. Delegate and supervise staff tasks fairly and consistently. Provide professional development, training, and guidance for staff. Prepare agendas, chair meetings, and manage written documentation. Ensure the children's wishes, feelings, and individual needs are prioritized and met. Maintain a safe, nurturing environment promoting positive behavior, health, education, and recreational activities. Oversee care plans, statutory reviews, and liaise with external agencies. Participate in recruitment and selection of staff. Conduct regular supervision sessions for RCW staff. Ensure staff training and development are ongoing. Ensure all care is delivered in line with company policies, procedures, and national standards (e.g., Care Quality Standards). Maintain accurate records for Ofsted inspections and regulatory compliance. Ensure all safety and hygiene protocols are followed. Foster positive communication within the team and with external agencies. Build relationships with local community stakeholders, including child protection agencies and the police. Oversee medication, financial management, and staff rota. Ensure accurate record-keeping of all financial and professional documentation. Share on-call duties on a monthly rota.
