The Opportunity: We are currently recruiting a CAD Processing Technician to join our Subsurface Engineering department based out of Watford offices. This is a great opportunity for someone with previous experience to work within the expeditious Geospatial industry. The successful applicant will be reporting to the Head of Department and have the option for Hybrid working (applicants in the wider UK are welcomed) What will I be doing in my new role? Supporting Project Managers and ensuring projects are delivered on time and within agreed budget, to the required quality (Geospatial Certainty). Processing survey data, including control (training will be provided). Processing topographical and utility data. Creating 2D plans, 3D wireframe models, and 3D solid models. Reconciling desktop records against site findings. Understanding and promoting the importance of compliance with the company Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality management system. Communicating both internally with MGS colleagues and externally with clients to be professional and commercially aware Coordinating and communicating with field teams. Following established standard practices and workflows, naming conventions / document control etc. Requirements of the role: AutoCAD & Civil 3D with minimum 2 years’ experience. Experience of RICS and PAS128 drawing Guidelines. Ability to produce 2D plans as well as 3D wireframe models. Experience of model libraries, blocks, and cross-referencing drawings. Competency in MicroStation is highly desirable. Competency in GIS is highly desirable. An understanding of utility networks, along with experience in drainage and electrical engineering is advantageous Background in surveying, engineering, or geomatics. Understanding the surveying principles such as traverse. An organised and methodological approach to problem solving and decision-making, with proven problem-solving experience.
