Main duties of the job
We are looking for an enthusiastic and energetic individual to join our busy Outpatients team. The role involves welcoming patients to the department and assisting the medical team with some clinical procedures.
The role will also require administrative and basic computer work on occasion. The successful postholder will also be expected to assist with clinics at our Gravesend satellite unit (taxi transport is provided).
A willingness to learn new things is essential. You will need to be flexible in regard to shift patterns with some weekend and evening work required on occasion.

Job responsibilities
1. Undertake a range of delegated duties to deliver agreed plans of care under the supervision of trained staff.
2. Provide excellent customer care skills to ensure patients come first.
3. Ensure patients receive high quality care and a good patient experience, having regard for their customs, religious beliefs, and doctrines.
4. Recognise and avoid situations that may be detrimental to the health and wellbeing of the individuals.
5. Act as an advocate for patients within the department, ensuring a patient-oriented approach to the delivery of care.
6. Prepare medical records prior to patients attending their clinic appointments.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Evidence of a General Education e.g. GCSE's or equivalent.
* NVQ 2 in Healthcare/QCF Diploma in Health Level 2 or equivalent in area of speciality or an equivalent level of working experience within a similar role.
Knowledge
* Knowledge and experience of taking clinical observations.
* Knowledge of Manual Handling of patients, using lifting aids.
* Understanding the requirements of Patient Confidentiality.
Experience
* Customer Care Experience.
* Some experience of working as a Healthcare Assistant in a Hospital or Registered Care setting.
