NPETS is entering an exciting phase of opportunity, supporting our key client’s UK nuclear fleet through a business transformation, and supporting new small modular reactor developers as they prepare for deployment in the UK and internationally. The role Your role will be to co-ordinate and deliver varied and exciting EC&I centric engineering projects. If you’re familiar with project delivery, you’ll know that they have plenty of moving parts and complexity, which is why you’ll be working alongside our Operations Managers and Engineering Managers to deliver holistic and integrated solutions. Your duties and responsibilities will be Lead projects across the project lifecycle from bid generation, through concept and detailed design development to installation and commissioning. You will be responsible for building effective relationships and interacting with multiple internal and external stakeholders in multiple locations. Work on systems integration, testing and validation of PLC, SCADA and simulator systems. Support requirements capture and systems engineering approach for new architectures. Demonstrate knowledge of the practical aspects of implementing engineering designs and understand the use of standards and compliance with regulatory requirements in an engineering environment. Simplify complex problems. Produce high-quality technical reports. Build and maintain valuable relationships. You will have the following qualifications & experience MEng, MSc, BEng or BSc or equivalent in EC&I or another relevant discipline, chartered or near Chartered Engineer status with a relevant professional body (we will support you). An awareness of civil nuclear plant systems, structures and components and associated design and assessment guidelines (or relevant engineering principles from other highly regulated industries). An understanding of the relevant guidelines, standards and practices (e.g., IEC 61508, 61511, 61513, 61226, ONR SAPs / TAGS). Knowledge and experience in the systematic design lifecycle of a C&I system; including specification, design, assessment, verification, testing, installation, commissioning and maintenance of safety or process critical I&C Systems. Knowledge of high integrity hardware or software-based control systems for industrial equipment. Motivated team member with the ability to work to deadlines and communicate project progress.
