Plant Operator Location: Sunderland Shifts: 4 on 4 off (days and nights) Are you an experienced plant operator that is looking for a new opportunity in the chemical industry. Our client are looking for a skilled and safety-conscious individual to join our team at a top-tier COMAH-regulated facility in Sunderland. The Role As a Plant Operator, you will be responsible for operating and monitoring process plants and supporting utilities, ensuring they run efficiently and safely in line with process instructions and technical documentation. You will play a crucial role in maintaining high operational standards while supporting a culture of continuous improvement and safety. Key Responsibilities Operate plant processes, including S1, S2, S3, and pan drier systems, ensuring process parameters are met. Monitor and maintain site utility equipment, ensuring compliance with technical guidelines. Conduct in-process analysis and quality control checks to maintain product integrity. Assist with bulk material transfers, ensuring correct storage and handling procedures. Report equipment defects, alarms, and process deviations to the shift manager. Provide training and coaching to operators when required. Adhere to health, safety, and environmental regulations, promoting a strong safety culture. Act as a deputy in emergency situations when necessary. What We’re Looking For Experience working in a chemical or process plant environment. Familiarity with COMAH regulations and associated safety requirements. Strong understanding of plant operation procedures, including risk assessments. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work effectively within a team and independently when required
