This position will suit a committed and ambitious engineer who can demonstrate strong people skills combined with commercial awareness and the ability to play their part in growing a dynamic high-performance team.
The Senior Engineer – Systems will typically be accountable for delivering high quality Requirements, integration, interface management and Verification & Validation services to our clients, including:
Deploy high standards of technical practice in Systems Engineering, including having a working knowledge of relevant standards and codes of practice including BS/EN 50126/8/9, ISO/IEC 15288, ISO/IEC/IEEE 42010, CSM-RA, and Railway Interoperability Regulation.
Development and implementation of processes to capture, manage and validate requirements, inclusive of establishing measures to assess the quality of Requirements.
Establishing processes to ensure traceability from client needs to detailed engineering requirements through application of an appropriate requirements structure.
Identifying, developing, and leading on integration, interface and system assurance activities and tasks as necessitated by the complexity, novelty, and level of risk on a project.
Establishing robust and appropriate verification and validation systems and processes for projects and programmes.
Working with project teams to ensure there is robust evidence of validation and verification of Requirements.
Promoting the use of Requirements, V&V and system level assurance principles throughout project teams and presenting to clients and stakeholders the value of robust Requirements and V&V processes.
Is aware of systems engineering and integration specialisms (System Safety, Security, HF, RAM) and can demonstrate understanding in one or more areas.
Able to tailor and scale the systems engineering service offering to clients in terms of the breadth, depth and competence needs necessary for successful delivery.
Management of project delivery to time, budget, quality, and scope.
Establishing and maintaining good relationships all external parties to enhance the reputation of the company and fostering collaborative working practices with project teams and stakeholders.
Good working knowledge of typical systems integration/engineering tools, such as the DOORS™ Requirements Management system.
Flexibility in working hours will be required to meet the demands of the role, as will the ability to travel to client sites and other SYSTRA offices will be required.
Ability to work from home.
Professional engineering registration (CEng, IEng)
Hold domain recognised systems integration/engineering qualifications such as ASEP, CSEP, CPRE or specialist qualifications e.g., in safety critical systems engineering.
Able to undertake overseas assignments where required.
