Locum Consultant ENT Surgeon (Specialist Interest in Head and Neck)
Job overview
Salford Royal Hospital ENT Department has a current vacancy for a substantive Consultant with an interest in Diagnostic and Benign Head and Neck. This is an exciting time to work within our busy directorate as part of a team of ENT surgeons. Our referral base continues to grow and we are always looking at new and innovative ways of delivering the ENT service for our patients.
The post is for 10 PAs of work per week.
Main duties of the job
You will be one of 7 consultants and will be welcomed into our dynamic and busy department. This is an ideal time to join the team and have the opportunity to influence the development of services during this period of significant change.
The post offers a 10 PA job plan, based at Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust, with one theatre session and two clinics per week. The post-holder will be entitled to patient administrative time and core SPA within their job plan. The job plan will be agreed with the successful post holder.
Potential applicants must be on the Specialist Register.

Qualifications
* Completion of higher training (CCT or within 6 months of obtaining)
* Fellowship training in head and neck
* Evidence of Accredited Clinical & Educational Supervision of Medical Learners
Experience
* Ability and experience to teach clinical skills
* Experience of supervising SpR’s
* Teaching of junior medical staff
* Publications in recognised relevant journal
* Ability to manage and lead a medical firm
* Ability to organise and manage a busy clinical practice
* Research projects relating to the specialist area
* Management training
* Teaching of medical students
* Experience of audit
Professional Registration
* Full registration with the General Medical Council & a valid Licence to Practise with the General Medical Council (or demonstrates eligibility to apply for registration and license)
* Registration on the GMC Specialist Register-CCT or within 6 months of obtaining CCT
