Probate and Private Client Tax Senior, Leatherhead, full time or part time/reduced hours, flexible working.
Our client is a professional services firm with a dedicated private client team who are looking for a probate specialist to manage a portfolio of clients, providing them with a sensitive and complete service. The position can be undertaken on a part-time basis to include only probate work, or if you wish to work full-time, the role will also include some private client tax oriented work.
You will have relevant experience dealing with Probate matters either from work in a Legal or Accounting Practice and be looking for a flexible work solution to include some really interesting work in a growing firm where the role can be built and developed around you.
Key Responsibilities:
1. You will be the primary point of contact for a portfolio of clients, building strong relationships based on trust and providing a high-quality service.
2. Understand clients' individual needs and objectives, offering relevant probate and tax advice relevant to their circumstances.
3. Assist clients in the administration of estates, including the preparation of probate and inheritance tax forms and liaising with relevant authorities.
4. Identifying effective ways to reduce IHT.
5. Sensitively assisting with Grant Of Probate.
6. Liaison with bereaved families to value estates for Probate purposes.
7. Dealing with personal bequests and any relevant matters as dictated by a person’s Will.
8. Completion of Accounts and Tax Calculations.
9. Prepare complex tax returns for individuals, trusts, and estates.
10. Work closely with other team members, including Partners.
Skills and Experience:
1. A professional qualification such as ATT, STEP or CTA is highly desirable.
2. Relevant experience in probate and private client tax within a professional services firm.
3. Strong technical knowledge of UK tax and probate legislation, particularly in inheritance tax, trusts, and estate planning.
4. Proven experience managing client relationships, providing exceptional client service, and maintaining confidentiality.
5. Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team, managing a portfolio of clients with sensitivity.
Salary and Benefits: In addition to a comprehensive range of benefits, a salary band of £48,000 – £52,000 has been set by Fletcher George as a guide based on full-time hours.
