The role of a Care Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the people living within Orchard homes. We ensure everyone is cared for with dignity and respect, and that they are engaged in how they receive support from our staff. You will play a key role in ensuring they engage in meaningful activities and receive the best support in line with their individual needs.

Main Duties:
* Enable people to remain as independent as possible while providing support and assistance according to individual needs, including personal care such as washing, dressing, and oral care.
* Be understanding and patient, encouraging and supporting participation in leisure activities appropriate to individual preferences, ensuring social and emotional needs are met.
* Responsible for making and changing beds, tidying rooms, undertaking light cleaning duties, and generally assisting in maintaining a clean, pleasant, and welcoming home environment.
* Help to serve meals and drinks at mealtimes, presenting meals attractively with polite and courteous service, providing appropriate support at mealtimes.
* Understand and comply with all statutory and legal requirements relevant to the role, including Health & Safety, COSHH, and the Care Standards Act, with a clear understanding of Infection Prevention and Control policies.
