Role Overview
We have an important hands-on opportunity for an experienced and outward-facing Health and Safety professional to support the mineral products sector and deliver a diverse range of activities for the Department, which includes promoting a positive culture amongst Members by focusing on ‘The Fatal Six’, Vision Zero, and its associated values and strategies.
Key Responsibilities
1. Actively engage with Members at all levels of seniority, including visiting sites across a wide range of products groups and activities to bring about positive Health and Safety outcomes by demonstrating leadership and the shared purpose of our Association in all aspects of occupational Health and Safety.
2. Assist in the design, development, and promotion of our Health and Safety strategy to ensure risk reduction across all our Members, realizing "Vision Zero."
3. Work closely with our Communications team to make a proactive contribution to creating influential Health and Safety content across all relevant channels aimed at sharing information and securing engagement from Members, employees, and contractors.
4. Manage our relevant Committees and Working Groups as required to provide leadership, guidance, and support to them to ensure the best possible outputs from their work.
This is a varied and interesting role where we would hope that no two working days are the same.
What Are We Looking For?
1. Proven experience of proactive management of the Health & Safety function, ideally in a relevant industry, or where the skills can be seen to be transferable.
2. Effective and engaging communication skills with an ability to communicate with a broad range of people through a range of media including written and verbal.
3. Ideally, good technical knowledge of Health and Safety matters affecting the minerals products industry.
4. Able to demonstrate competence through relevant qualifications, membership of professional bodies, evidence of CPD, and practical experience.
5. Sound IT skills.
6. Full UK driving licence.
