Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant – Full-Time Role in Levenshulme
Teaching Personnel is seeking a Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant to join an Ofsted-rated ‘Good’ secondary school in Levenshulme. This is a full-time position starting immediately, running until the end of the academic year, with the potential for a permanent role based on performance.
Role Overview
This is an excellent opportunity for a recent maths graduate who is passionate about education and looking to gain hands-on experience in a school setting. The role involves working closely with students to support their understanding of mathematical concepts, boost their confidence, and help them achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assisting maths teachers in the delivery of lessons, ensuring students remain engaged and supported.
* Providing one-to-one and small group support to students who may need additional help in understanding key topics.
* Helping to prepare learning materials and resources tailored to different ability levels.
* Supporting students in developing problem-solving skills and fostering a positive attitude towards maths.
* Assisting students with special educational needs (SEN) or those who require targeted intervention.
* Monitoring student progress, providing feedback, and working with teachers to implement support strategies.
* Encouraging students to develop independent learning strategies and build their confidence in maths.
* Supporting classroom behaviour management and helping to create a focused learning environment.
Candidate Requirements:
* A degree in Mathematics or a related subject (2:2 or above preferred).
* A strong understanding of maths concepts and the ability to explain them clearly to students of varying abilities.
* A passion for education and student development.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
* The ability to work collaboratively within a team and take initiative when supporting students.
* Previous experience working with young people (e.g., tutoring, mentoring, classroom support) is beneficial but not essential.
Salary & Benefits:
* Weekly pay between £419.25 - £500, depending on experience and responsibilities.
