Job Description
To be responsible for delivering a range of housing and property repairs and contracts as directed by the Heating/Electrical Manager. To ensure that all works are delivered to the agreed specification to a high standard and within target, resources to be deployed in an efficient and effective manner with all aspects holding up to scrutiny in a transparent and robust manner.
Responsibilities
1. Assist the Heating/Electrical Manager and manage a range of housing and property repairs and contracts.
2. Ensure the performance of electrical teams and efficient deployment of resources.
3. Focus on continuous improvement, identifying strong performance and areas for development.
4. Ensure electrical staff prioritize customer care in accordance with Council policy.
5. Support the Heating/Electrical Manager in developing health and safety policies and procedures.
6. Manage buildings, vehicles, and plant under the control of the electrical team.
7. Undertake training as required and train and develop staff.
The Individual
1. Previous experience in a supervisory/management capacity of construction/maintenance operatives.
2. Understanding of Building Maintenance works.
3. Appropriate electrical related (technical) qualification to minimum SVQ Level 3 (or demonstrable equivalent experience).
4. Good organisational/planning skills.
5. Ability to organize effective workforce deployment.
6. Sound contracts management skills.
7. Good working knowledge of a variety of building trades.
8. Ability to travel efficiently between various work locations within Moray.
9. Sound judgment and ability to work under own initiative.
10. Ability to work to tight deadlines.
11. Good communication skills (written and oral).
12. Proven track record.
13. Ability to provide effective leadership within a customer-focused environment.
14. Ability to adapt to unpredictable work situations/scheduling.
15. Ability to work on-site within a construction environment.
16. Willingness to work flexibly and outside office hours when required.
17. Ability to work in an open plan office and different offices.
18. Able to work under pressure to balance competing demands and sustain outputs.

Starting Salary: £37,979.76 (£19.74 per hour, 37hrs per week)
