Maintenance Assistant
Wycombe Hospital, High Wycombe
Full time – 37.5 hours per week
Salary – up to £30,000.00 depending on experience plus Serco benefits.
Serco are recruiting Maintenance Assistant to join our team based in Wycombe Hospital. This role is to provide safe and efficient maintenance of the Building Fabric, Plant and equipment within the hospital as directed by Estates Supervisors and Management

Main Accountabilities:
* To carry out reactive repairs, Defect work, servicing commissioning and maintenance to a wide range of Services, Plant and Equipment within all areas of the Hospital as directed by Supervisors or Managers.
* To carry out Planned Preventive Maintenance to a wide range of Plant and Equipment.
* To work in accordance with all relevant Serco Policies & Procedures, Workplace Regulations and Best Practice Guidelines.
* To take a proactive approach to the development and review of Health & Safety systems, work instructions and working practices
* To always work in a safe and responsible manner with full regard for own and other’s safety.
* To attend work in compliance with the Computerised Time & Attendance System.
* To use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
* To be prepared to attend work or work beyond expected finishing time in exceptional circumstances, as requested by Supervisors or Managers.
* Communicate to Supervisors or Managers unrepaired faults or defects or requirements for Spare Parts.
* To attend on-site and off-site training as required.
* Undertake any other ad hoc duties as prescribed by your supervisor within scope of skill and capability.
* Requirement to work Monday - Friday to cover on site operational hours of 08:00 – 17:00.
What you’ll need to do the role:
* Level 2 NVQ
* Level 2 National/Diploma Certificate
* Working at height, Ladder & tower scaffolds
* Proven experience of working in a similar environment
* Knowledge and understanding of Building Services
* Good communication and customer service skills
