Practical Roof Solutions is an industry leader in specialist access, and works requiring specialist roofing and maintenance skills.
Our works range from small reactive jobs to long term planned projects, all carried out concurrently by our own full time crews. Works values range from £500.00 to £1,500,000.00.
We have upwards of 70+ secured jobs at any one time, mostly short duration works, with 6-8 jobs active per day. As we enter a period of exciting growth we are looking to recruit a full time Workforce and Works scheduler to join our expanding business and work closely with our busy team.
You will be working in a fast paced environment delivering a very reactive service to our customers, and will be responsible for scheduling jobs for crews who travel throughout the UK.

Starting salary for experienced works scheduler with construction/maintenance industry background: £34,000.
The starting salary is negotiable depending on experience.
The role:
* Responsible for the scheduling of works for our operatives in the field
* Responsible for the scheduling of appointments for two estimators
* Through effective planning, ensure that days are optimised to drive maximum productivity from the teams
* Working closely with the Project Manager and Office Manager in the planning/scheduling of works to ensure there is sufficient time for team members to organise materials/staff/MEWPs/plant/etc.
* Monitoring scheduled jobs to check they are being completed to the set timeframe, and re-scheduling as necessary when jobs run over having a knock-on effect on the calendar
* Monitor and plan around weather forecasts. Requires constant shuffling of the schedule.
* Escalate issues with specific jobs, clients or engineers promptly to the appropriate person
* Contacting customers quickly to advise of delays and making changes to the schedule accordingly, keeping all parties notified
* Contacting customers to schedule/reschedule works as required, our works are very dependant on weather so plans change regularly
* Communicating regularly with operatives and assisting them with problem solving or passing queries to other office team members
* Ensuring job boards are updated daily, and any relevant staff are updated on job progress where necessary
* Liaising with the customer to plan dates
* Proactively looking for ways to improve the scheduling process
You will need:
* Previous scheduling experience, ideally within a very fast paced environment
* Excellent organisational skills
* Ability to plan and prioritise workload
* Ability to adapt to daily site and weather condition changes, requiring quick re-thinking of the schedule
* Be able to work to time constraints & use own initiatives to solve problems (with plenty of support from the team as a whole)
