Job Advert Role Description
Stockton Hall Hospital is a medium secure 112 bedded unit spanning over 7 wards, caring for people with mental illness, personality disorders and learning disabilities.
Main Purpose:
Assists with the operation of a catering service within a Priory unit with particular emphasis on the movement, storage and preparation of food within the unit.
The role:
Washing up, cleaning kitchen equipment in a timely and efficient manner.
Ensure that all catering stock and equipment is correctly stored and accounted for upon delivery.
Deliver meals and other catering supplies to various areas within the unit in a timely and efficient manner.
Adherence to all food safety policies and procedures.
Skills and experience:
Previous experience in a similar environment preferred but not essential as full training will be given.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment essential.
The jobholder requires basic numeracy and literacy together with an appreciation of basic food hygiene.
Self-motivating and ability to work under own initiative.
A positive attitude and willingness to learn are more important than experience.
Shift Pattern: 5 days over 7 days working every 3rd weekend – shift times are 6.30am – 2.30pm and 10.15am – 6.15pm weekdays. 8.00am – 4.00pm weekends.
The role holder works within a busy kitchen environment using a variety of equipment where many routine tasks are repetitive and require a degree of sustained physical effort and concentration.
