We have an exciting opportunity within our Digital function and we are looking for an IT Project Technician to be part of our IT Client Devices team to work on the deployment of Windows 11. This team concentrates on the provision of IT Operational Support and Customer Services support functions. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a technical, customer focused, IT service to all SCFT staff as part of the windows 11 rollout. They will liaise with internal
and external customers to support the delivery and support of IT Services across the SCFT Estate for the duration of this project
The role will be focused on providing support to the delivery of this project until deployment ends. As part of the Windows 11 Digital Transformation project: There is a requirement to travel to various sites as part of this role so a Driving Licence and access to a Car are essential.

The post holder will report to the IT Support Manager and the the team will be responsible for delivering technical customer focused IT service to all SCT staff. The team will liaise with internal and external customers, providing a responsive and customer focused desktop and 2nd line support team, and will be based on a number of sites across the geographic area covered by the Trust.

Main duties of the role related to Windows 11 rollout:
• To provide support for the delivery of 2nd line and desktop services across all sites and the peripheral locations where SCFT staff are based/ located.
• Provide a responsive and customer focused desktop and 2nd line support service to users of IT with any issues concerning PC’s, printers, etc. and associated software in non-technical language where there may be barriers to understanding.
• Ensure that all support calls and requests passed are dealt with appropriately and in accordance with defined policies and procedures, in accordance with service level agreements.
• Respond to urgent priority calls as escalated by IT Support Manager, keeping users informed regarding status of outstanding problems, provide technical support in identifying software and hardware problems.
• Provide a development service to install, setup and configure new IT equipment for users such as PC’s, printers, iPads, Laptops, tablets and scanners for staff across the Trust sites.
• Assist and participate in the process for safe and secure disposal / reuse of ICT equipment and ensure this is undertaken in line with existing processes and policies.
• The provision of support and advice to other IT/ Informatics staff, Trust managers and end-users on the use and management of IT hardware and software following development and implementation.
