Job summary To ensure the provision of an effective and efficient secretarial and administrative support within the Dorset Pain Management Service. The post will be based at Shelley Road providing administrative support to the clinical staff and at times reception duties to support patients in clinic. The post holder will be part of the East Team who also have a base at Poole Community Clinic. The Dorset Pain Management Service is a vibrant service, consisting of an inter-professional team. We employ modernised clinical practice to help people coping with chronic, non-malignant pain lead meaningful lives. Our pan-Dorset service offers individual interventions and group programmes in various locations county wide; these are delivered by two teams across the county. The staff mix includes pain consultants, psychologists, specialist physiotherapists, pain and mental health nurses and occupational therapists, therapy assistants, trainees from various departments and our hardworking admin support team. Main duties of the job To ensure the provision of an effective and efficient administrative support. To ensure that all correspondence is dealt with promptly and efficiently To ensure that patient appointments are made where necessary including home visits. To maintain the effective distribution of incoming and outgoing mail. Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of.
