About the role
We are hiring an Engineering Team Leader at our Ossett site to lead a team of 3 engineers on shift. This hands-on role involves managing all aspects of daily site maintenance, working 12-hour shifts on days and nights, with available overtime.
What will I be doing?
Leadership:
* Collaborate with Production Team Leads/Managers to deliver high-quality engineering support for operational targets.
* Supervise and coordinate engineering team activities supporting manufacturing operations.
* Meet team KPIs related to equipment performance, reliability, and maintenance.
* Coach and develop team members on safe practices and fault diagnosis.
* Plan and allocate team resources efficiently.
* Motivate staff, manage performance, and identify development needs.
* Participate in Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
* Support other departments as needed, embodying company values.
* Handle non-conformance and corrective actions to ensure compliance.
Hands-on responsibilities:
* Address reactive maintenance requirements.
* Assist in developing PPM systems and scheduling maintenance tasks.
* Perform fault diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of machinery.
* Coordinate with production staff to communicate issues.
* Maintain high equipment availability by minimizing downtime.
* Conduct root cause analysis.
* Manage tools, stores, and equipment.
* Contribute to site improvements.
What do I need to be successful?
Ideal candidates will have relevant experience and the right competencies, including a successful track record in similar environments.
* Experience in FMCG environments.
* Apprenticeship in an engineering discipline, with Electrical Engineering HND/HNC/BTech or equivalent.
* Strong fault-finding skills.
* PLC fault diagnosis (desirable).
* Leadership experience (beneficial but not essential).
