Exciting Opportunity for an Ambitious Creative: 3-Day-a-Week Design Role
Established Designer | Part-Time | Central London | £45,000
Are you a dynamic, forward-thinking designer looking for a flexible opportunity? If you're ready to bring fresh ideas to the table and make an impact, we have the perfect role for you! This 3-day-a-week position is ideal for freelancers or those seeking a shorter workweek without compromising on the creative challenges and excitement that come with designing for global menswear brands.
* An inclusive and supportive environment where creativity thrives and brand identities are nurtured across product categories and channels.
* A comprehensive benefits package including life insurance, pension contributions, and private health care.
* Recognition through long service awards and a generous employee discount on a wide range of brands.
* Enjoy a paid day off to celebrate your birthday!
* This is a pro-rata salary of £45,000.
* This is a 12-month fixed-term contract with the flexibility to work a reduced number of days per week, offering you a fantastic work-life balance.
As their Designer, you will:
* Lead the design of contemporary, commercial menswear collections across a variety of categories, including jersey, outerwear, shirting, woven bottoms, and knitwear.
* Create collections that are not only on-trend but commercially viable and true to the brand's DNA.
* Own the full design process, from initial concept to final completion, meeting critical path deadlines along the way.
* Collaborate with the team to ensure each seasonal collection aligns with the brand's vision and maintains cohesiveness.
* Source, develop, and select premium fabrics and handlooms that meet both design and production requirements.
* Curate seasonally relevant color palettes that elevate the collections.
* Stay ahead of the curve by researching current and future menswear trends.
* Produce detailed technical specs and sketches for the production team.
* Lead fit sessions and sample reviews, ensuring quality and consistency.
* Present collections confidently to senior management and stakeholders.
* Work closely with production, technical, and merchandising teams to bring your vision to life.
* Analyse market and sales data, using consumer insights to refine designs.
* Travel as needed to support the business.
