Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen in our busy and dynamic Audiology department. The team is looking to appoint 2 Audiology assistants to support the team in delivering high-quality Audiology care.
* Interview Date: 07 March 2025
* 37 hours 30 minutes/week
Main duties of the job
* Liaise with internal and external bodies (e.g. GPs, Consultants and all other heads of department).
* Deal with patients with a disability and be the first line of contact for patients attending the department.
* Input patient information into Auditbase systems.
* Assist with hearing aid stock control and basic hearing aid repairs.
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
* Contact with patients for hearing aid repairs and ear mould impressions.
* Maintain close contact with patients when examining ears, taking impressions and inserting hearing aids.
* Organise own workload within a very busy department while ensuring the smooth running of all administration procedures including processing of ear moulds, ordering and management of stock.
Person specification
Qualifications
* NVQ level 3 in relevant subject or equivalent level of relevant experience.
Knowledge
* Background awareness of healthcare and clerical procedures.
* Knowledge of Patient Care System.
Skills
* Good interpersonal and communication skills.
* Good organisational skills.
* Motivated and enthusiastic with good IT skills.
* Ability to manage time effectively.
Experience
* Previous experience of working and communicating with hard of hearing or deaf patients.
