You will be actively promoting and supporting the use of all our library resources and helping customers to find the information that they need. You will help to deliver a programme of library activities and events, as well as supporting the Library Manager in all aspects of the day to day running of the library. Ware Library, SG12 Ware is the most modern library in Hertfordshire, having only opened in October 2024. It is fast becoming a family friendly library and is already proving popular as a study space for local teenagers. The library is host to a wide range of events and as such is firmly placed at the heart of the community. It is a vibrant, open plan space on one floor with state-of-the-art facilities for both customers and staff. About the role To support the delivery of the Inspiring Libraries 10-year strategy. You will have the skills and abilities to support the Library Manager to actively supervise the team at Ware Library, including staff timetabling, training and development. You will also support the Library Manager with statistic and financial data, Health & Safety as well as act as the senior on duty as and when required. You will have the ability to compile, maintain and provide effective returns for monthly statistical information. You will also actively engage with the delivery and promotion of all frontline services in the library and outreach activities as required. About you Essential You will have excellent communication and admin skills and you will be passionate about providing great customer care. You will have demonstrable experience in leading a team in a supervisory role, working collaboratively to achieve aims and objectives as set by the Library Manager and wider Library teams. You will have excellent time management skills and organisational skills, being able to manage workloads alongside supervisory responsibilities in a methodical manner You will be a competent user of Microsoft Packages including Word and Excel in order to collate and present data, and have an ability to support others in using technology. Desirable Above all, you will be a reliable and flexible team player who is willing and able to engage with the full range of services, activities, and events that libraries offer.
