Job Description
Primary Function of Position:
This position will implement and execute marketing programs for the Region and drive adoption and growth of da VinciÒ surgical procedures. The focus will be in strategic growth area of General Surgery, to include Colorectal (oncology and benign), Upper GI, HPB, Bariatrics and Hernia. The Senior Marketing Manager is also expected to work with a cross-functional regional sales and training team, working closely with the European marketing group as well as other departments including Medical Affairs, Clinical Affairs, FSO, GPA, GAVE and MACA.
The primary function of this position is to be able to execute on the following global marketing standards at a country/regional level:
1. Understand your market – Open/MIS rate, National outcomes, surgeon/patient/hospital segments, reimbursement levels, incumbent surgical techniques and KOLs etc.
2. Maintain alignment on target procedures/products – Help define what is being driven and why within commercial org and keep all teams focused on this “commercial strategy”.
3. Build Value Props Stories, Tools, Events and Engage 3Ps (Physician, Patient, Provider) with them - targeted in the right sequence.
4. Develop Speaker/Teacher /Executive KOLs – with strong technique, outcomes, and use of advanced technology.
5. Quantify the impact (QTI) – clinical, economic, strategic evidence - of key daVinci surgeons/hospitals as references.
6. Align with relevant Surgical and Executive societies on daVinci surgery to ensure support and partnership.
Roles and Responsibilities :
Understand your market
7. Develop and execute regional/country marketing tactics with a focus on General Surgery. This will include detailed activities to be implemented in a defined timeline and budget, strong collaboration with the European marketing team and local sales leadership.
8. Strong partnering with clinical and capital sales teams in a growing competitive environment for analysis, targeting and regional action planning purposes.
Maintain alignment on target procedures/products
9. Work closely with Market Access and Clinical Affairs to develop and implement publication strategies that will support procedure adoption goals.
10. Collaborate with Training department to identify and support the development of regional sales team. Deliver content for regional company meetings.
Build Value Props Stories, Tools, Events and Engage 3Ps
11. Deliver corporate clinical & capital marketing and sales tools to achieve short and long-term goals for procedures /sales quotas, products, and system sales Develop Speaker/Teacher/ /Executive KOLs.
12. Partner with key surgeon champions (KOLs) to develop and implement leading robotic clinical education programs and symposia to drive competency and utilization of da VinciÒSurgery.
13. Develop and approve proctors based on surgical, clinical, and teaching expertise to implement safe and effective reproducible surgical techniques with improve clinical outcomes.
Quantify the impact (QTI) – Clinical, economic, strategic evidence
14. Work closely with the Regional MACA team to assist in development and execution of cost effectiveness/ value strategies in key markets.
15. Collect, analyse, and share competitive data for strategic positioning and initiatives.
16. Validate Clinical and Economical data with reference case observation center, key surgeon champions (KOLs) and proctors.
Align with relevant Surgical and Executive societies
17. Develop and implement Intuitive’s presence at key national conferences, including robotics symposia, postgraduate (PG) courses, live surgical broadcasts, tradeshow booth promotion and presence.
18. Develop and implement impactful training curriculae in collaboration with relevant societies with a strong focus on General Surgery.
Coach other Marketing colleagues in on-boarding, learning marketing standards, and growing their business acumen (clinical, hospital, or academic).
Lead cross-functional teams to deliver high value marketing projects and programs.
Deliver impactful presentations to senior and executive Intuitive leadership.
Qualifications
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience :
19. 8+ years of Clinical/Product marketing experience in a therapeutic medical device company, General surgery experience preferred.
20. Surgical and/or Operating Theatre (Room) sales experience preferred.
21. Proven ability to effectively position and procedure/product messages and develop strong sales support to drive desired adoption.
22. Demonstrated success in building clinical education and marketing programs to drive product/procedure growth.
23. Language (spoken and written): fluency in English.
24. Bachelor's degree in life science or business discipline.
25. Superior verbal/written communication, teamwork, and interpersonal work across multiple constituents.
26. Self-starter with ability to take leadership in unstructured environment.
27. A keen ability to manage projects, keeping to budget, organizing, prioritizing and coping with multiple tasks.
28. Strong knowledge of the MS Office product suite.
29. Ability to travel 50%. International travel required.
