Job summary This is an exciting opportunity for highly motivated and dedicated band 6 Radiographers to join the Nuclear Medicine team at London North West University Hospitals NHS Trust. Main duties of the job Aseptically dispense radiopharmaceuticals. Undertake a wide variety of routine and research radionuclide investigations (to include scan acquisition and processing, sending images via DICOM to PACS for reporting, and archiving of clinical data. Assist the management of Quality Control for the Nuclear Medicine Department. Perform non-imaging nuclear medicine investigations. Perform IV cannulation and administer IV radioactive medicinal products (radiopharmaceuticals) and assesses contra-indications. Administer subcutaneous, intradermal and oral radiopharmaceuticals. Update and maintain the patients' clinical records and assist in the management of administration and waste documentation for radiopharmaceuticals / radioactive waste. Assist in radioactive waste management under the direction of the Superintendent Radiographer and in compliance with the Environment Agency's requirements and documentation. Supervise Radiographers/Assistant Practitioners and Students in their practice and mentor where appropriate. To provide a high standard of expertise and care, and lead areas of the department in the absence of the Modality Superintendent. To provide an efficient diagnostic imaging service I that is patient focused in and out of normal working hours.
