Russell Taylor Group have a fantastic opportunity for a Business Development Manager in the Southeast of England. This opportunity is open to either people who have worked in the lab with chromatography experience (HPLC, GC, LC etc) and a background in sales (doesn't necessarily need to be scientific sales) who are looking to take a step out of the lab or a fully- fledged BDM who has experience in the chromatography marketplace.
You must be happy to travel on the road 2-3 times a week with the rest of the working week from home, but you will be given a set target for the month and can manage your own diary accordingly. Travel will be in the region of the South East of England and my client would like the candidate to be located in this area.
The BDM will be responsible for driving the growth of chromatography product and service offerings. This role focuses on identifying new business opportunities from dormant accounts, managing current clients, developing strategic relationships, and increasing revenue.
Responsibilities
• Manage and grow existing accounts and develop and execute strategic plans to drive sales and business growth within the chromatography sector.
• Identify, target, and acquire new customers, there are already several dormant accounts to target.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams
• Generate new leads through networking, industry events, cold calling, and digital channels- the role will require you to be on the road on average 3 days a week on your patch.
• Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to identify opportunities for business expansion.
• Conduct market research to identify emerging opportunities and provide actionable insights for the business.
• Identify opportunities early in the sales cycle and close sales independently.
• Deliver business development related presentations.
• Represent companies at exhibitions.
• Prepare sales proposals and quotations.
• Provide weekly reports activity within the market, forecasts and sales activities.
The Person
• Previous experience of Chromatography (HPLC, LC OR GC) in a laboratory setting with aptitude to work in a sales roles or previous technical experience of selling chromatography products/services.
• Must be living in the Southeast of England
• Happy to travel around the Southeast England region 2-3 times a week.
• Be flexible to represent the company at exhibitions and events and occasional overnight stays if required.
• Ability to remain calm when faced with pressure and deadlines.
• Excellent with Microsoft Applications.
• Ability to communicate effectively- written and verbal.
• Must be confident and thrive in a targeted environment.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• UK Driving licence.
