Job Description
As a successful candidate, you will have a Level 2 or above qualification in Early Years Education, with significant experience in working with children with Special Educational Needs. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be able to work effectively with both children and their families to ensure the best outcomes for our pupils.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nCollaborate with Nursery Lead to plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote the physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development of children in line with the EYFS framework.\nProvide tailored support to children with special educational needs (SEN) or disabilities, adapting activities and resources to accommodate their requirements with a particular emphasis on 1:1 care of a child with Special Educational Needs.\nObserve and assess children's progress and development, using tools and techniques specified by the EYFS framework, and provide feedback to support ongoing assessment and planning for children's learning.\nBuild positive relationships with parents or caregivers, involving them in their child's learning journey, providing feedback on their child's progress, and offering advice and support.\nEnsure health and safety requirements are met, including risk assessments, supervision of children, and promoting good hygiene practices.\nEngage in ongoing professional development to enhance knowledge and skills related to the EYFS framework, child development, safeguarding, and first aid. \n\nRequirements:\n\nRelevant qualifications and/or experience in early years education, Level 2, or above, Early Years Educator qualification or equivalent.\nSound knowledge and understanding of the EYFS framework, including the principles, goals, and standards.\nExperience in supporting children with special educational needs (SEN) or disabilities in an Early Years setting.\nStrong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.\nAbility to work effectively as part of a team and collaborate with colleagues to support children's learning and development.\nProactive, adaptable, and flexible approach to work, with a positive attitude and a genuine passion for working with young children.
