JOB TITLE Site Manager (Inland Waterways)

Working Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday
What you’ll do:
We are seeking a dynamic Site Manager to enhance our Operational teams working on our inland waterways projects. You will support the Operations Manager with team projects in Cambridge and nationally where required. Your expertise in heavy plant operations and team management will drive the projects, making inland waterways experience essential.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Work around inland waterways and utility sites; working experience within these sectors is essential.
2. Collaborate closely with the Operations Manager to oversee daily operations and ensure strict adherence to safety protocols on-site through regular audits and inspections.
3. Maintain efficiency and agility in managing fluctuating workloads while offering guidance and support to your teams to enhance cohesion and productivity.
4. Deliver results that exceed expectations while simultaneously leading the thorough scoping of sites, meticulously assessing project requirements.
5. Develop comprehensive task briefs to provide clear direction and alignment with project objectives, and engage with clients to address concerns and maintain satisfaction.
6. Effectively manage working hours to ensure the safety and well-being of all personnel on-site, and strategically plan possessions to minimize disruptions and maximize efficiency.
7. Read and understand site plans and work according to written or verbal instruction.
8. Work in a clean and tidy manner, doing your utmost to protect the environment and avoid pollution.
9. Look after all equipment, keeping it in a clean and undamaged state and acting on all reported damage to equipment.
10. Ensure all pre-start equipment checks are completed and the records of findings are submitted as required.
11. Ensure routine maintenance and lubrication of equipment is completed.
12. Operate any plant or equipment you are trained and competent to use, which may be owned or hired in and will include the use of specialized attachments.
13. Comply with legislation, i.e., Health and Safety at Work, LOLER, COSHH, etc.
What we’re looking for:
We are specifically seeking skilled and experienced Managers with a Machine operator background to join our team. Experience of forestry & vegetation clearance would also be beneficial. Good communication skills are essential.

* SMSTS
* 360 Excavator
* Full UK Drivers licence
* Piling Experience
* Dredging/waterways experience
* Ability to compile RAMS
* RYA Powerboat
* Ability to work away from home
Desirable Knowledge & Skills:
* TWS
* Chainsaw maintenance & crosscutting
* Fell and process trees up to 380mm
* First Aid + forestry
* Basic IT skills
