About the team: This position is part of a dynamic backend team in HubSpot's Discovery product group, which is tasked with helping customers find relevant information quickly across HubSpot. Responsibilities include developing and scaling critical backend systems like Notifications and Navigation platforms. Teams are kept small and agile to maximize ownership and reduce scale challenges and communication overhead (e.g., minimal meetings).
As a Sr Software Engineer, you will:
* Write and ship production code that has meaningful user and business impact
* Envision, build, and analyze new features and tools to contribute to company growth and revenue
* Work with a team of 3-5 engineers
* Collaborate with colleagues across engineering, product, design, research, etc.
* Help HubSpot users meet their goals through your contributions
* Implement features that provide insights into user behavior and improve their experience
You may be a fit if:
* You have strong backend development experience. We work primarily with Java, MySQL, AWS, DropWizard, Kafka, and Kubernetes, but experience with specific technologies is secondary to understanding programming fundamentals.
* You have a passion for writing and reading code.
* You focus on the user, gaining empathy for their challenges and understanding their journey through our product.
* You are excited about technical challenges and being close to business and go-to-market strategies.
