Job overview
An interesting and unique opportunity has arisen for either an individual seeking career development within the Trust, or for an individual with suitable demonstrable skills.
The position of Administrative Coordinator within the Respiratory team has become vacant, and we are seeking a candidate with excellent typing, communication and organisational skills, ideally with a good knowledge of the Trust's Core Patient Database and an understanding of the Somerset Cancer Register.
The ideal candidate will have the ability to demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy in their work; possess personal attributes of empathy, compassion and respect; be able to demonstrate resilience and have an ability to work with personnel at all levels across the Trust.
The hours are up to 37.5 hours per week with no weekend working.
Main duties of the job
* Establishing a close working relationship with the Respiratory Cancer consultants and Lung Cancer Nursing Team
* Collating lists of patients required to be reviewed in MDT by the clinical teams
* Adding patients to the Somerset cancer register for discussion at MDT
* Booking Fast track appointments and maintaining the fast track worklist as well as any tasks that arise from this
* Obtaining documentation that may be required by the clinical team
* Communicating with patients to ensure they are aware of their attendances in the process
* Typing outcomes as instructed by the MDT attendees and typing of correspondence resulting from the MDT, together with any other correspondence that may be produced by the clinical team
The candidate will also be required to co-ordinate, produce and fill theatre lists for Respiratory endoscopic procedures and assist the wider Respiratory team where capacity permits. Supporting the smooth running of the MDT and formulating theatre lists is the priority of this role, and requires the post-holder to demonstrate an ability to work under their own initiative with an element of autonomy.

* Educated to GCSE standard

Experience & Knowledge
* Minimum of two years secretarial/administrative experience
* Have experience in producing and working with computer-based systems to track and record outcomes and information
* Good awareness of delivering high quality information
* Relevant experience working in the NHS in a clinical setting or handling data

Please be aware that all new employees starting work with us will be charged for the cost of their DBS check if it is required for the role.
