This post is full time and will cover The Birthing Centre, Ambulatory Care Unit, and Wards 1 and 15.
The shifts will be on a rota basis and will cover a range of Earlies, long days and weekends. To be discussed further at interview.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our busy Surgery Ward Clerk Team at NSECH. This post isfull timeand will cover the Birthing Centre, ACU, ward 1 and ward 15 based at NSECH.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to provide a reception service, and act as an initial first contact for patients, visitors and other healthcare professionals on the telephone and face to face.
The successful candidate will provide support and cover as a relief ward clerk to the Medical Wards in absence due to sickness and holidays. The post holder should have excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills and ideally be able to work flexibly with minimum supervision.
The post will be based at NSECH however depending on service needs you may be asked to cover other base sites.

To provide a reception service, acting as first point of contact on the telephone or face to face, for patients, visitors and other healthcare professionals.
To facilitate good communication with other wards and departments involved in patient care or ward/departmental functioning.
To input data regarding all admissions, transfers and discharges onto Patient Administration System.
To provide an efficient administration and clerical service to unit staff, visitors and patients.
