We are recruiting for an experienced Maintenance Technician to join our client in a controlled, chilled factory environment. This role plays a critical part in maintaining the machinery and systems used on-site, ensuring compliance with food safety, quality, and health & safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Production:
* Ensure adherence to all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
* Maintain company specifications and ensure compliance.
* Work to minimize or eliminate food safety risks, such as cross-contamination.
* Store waste in designated places and ensure minimal production loss by quickly resolving breakdowns.
* Ensure equipment and site operations meet Health & Safety requirements.
* Update documentation as required for internal and external audits.
* Maintain and update records relating to spares, stock, and consumables.
Health & Safety / Hygiene:
* Maintain HACCP system procedures in accordance with quality assurance procedures.
* Prioritize food safety and animal welfare at all times.
* Ensure hygiene standards for equipment, staff, and storage areas are maintained.
Risk Management:
* Identify and record issues relating to the management of risk in compliance with company policies and procedures.
Key Requirements:

Qualifications:
* Level 2 Food Safety
* Level 2 COSHH
* Level 2 Health & Safety
* Level 2 Manual Handling
* HACCP Awareness
* Fully qualified Electrician with a minimum of 16th Edition electrical qualification

Experience:
* Minimum 3 years of experience in a meat processing plant.
* Practical understanding of electrical equipment, circuit boards, PLCs, and electronic equipment.
* Experience with mechanical systems, including lifting equipment, rail systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, boilers, pressure washers, and forklifts.
* Plumbing and welding experience (desirable).
