My client in Alton, is seeking a nursery room leader. You must be qualified to a minimum of a level 3 nursery practitioner qualification to apply.
We are looking to recruit either experienced Room Leaders or Level 3 Practitioners looking to step up into a more senior role
We are looking for an experienced full time qualified room leader to join our friendly established team, that is current working in a leadership role and able to uphold the high standards of childcare we offer 51 weeks of the year.
Working a 40 hour week on a shift pattern of 8-6 pm Mon-Fri with a half day each week, annual leave of 28 days leave inclusive of bank holidays with an extra day to enjoy your birthday off. Full access to your own training account where all training time is paid or returned in lieu is available and support in higher education for your personal CPD development is offered.
As a room leader you would be responsible for a staff team of up to 4 members in a designated area of the nursery, and wholly responsible for your room which would meet the children’s individual needs and facilitate a safe, healthy, stimulating and enriching learning environment enabling all children to learn to their full potential.
Responsible for peer observing and mentoring your own nursery practitioners, alongside new nursery assistants and students in their practice as a strong leader. Being a positive role model for both adults and children, whilst planning and organising room development, budgets, room meetings and being part of a senior leadership team in reflection of practice and vision in the setting is a must.
Responsible and able to use a nursery software with good ICT skills you should be organised with all records within your room, ensuring they are all up to date and completed to a high standard and meeting deadlines that are asked including transition records and child development assessments.
Experience working with 2-3 year olds would be helpful in this leadership role to best teach good knowledge of child development and behaviour management within your room, however room leader experience in another age range is a positive. This role would be best suited to a candidate that wants to continue to grow, with the possibility of additional designated roles and 'manning' the nursery office, taking messages and answer telephones, in the absence of the management if they are in ratio or in meetings.
