The Systems Design team provides extensive exposure across the entire Submarine programme, allowing you to collaborate with key stakeholders and make a real impact.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the development of the system model, championing the adoption of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) within the programme
* Assist the Engineering Manager with key engineering tasks and activities
* Support the development of design solutions to complex technical problems against agreed time, cost, and quality
* Support the development and management of Combat Systems requirements
* Ensure design proving evidence is comprehensive, captured within the requirements management tools, and endorsed by the appropriate level of authority
* Understand the contractual and performance requirements for Combat Systems and support the definition and associated acceptance criteria through design, build, integration, installation, and commissioning activities
* Provide technical support to integrated performance and acceptance activities, including acceptance of equipment from suppliers through to system acceptance by the customer
* Work with various engineering teams to improve own levels of domain knowledge and subject matter expertise
* Guide and support more junior members of the team
Job Requirements:
Essential:
* Background within a STEM subject
* Proven ability to solve problems
* Extensive stakeholder management skills at all levels with the ability to influence
Desirable:
* Chartered Engineer, or actively working towards this
* Specific Systems Engineering experience and experience using tools such as IBM DOORS and Enterprise Architect
* Experience in leading small teams
* Experience in relevant industry
