Key Duties
* Provide professional advice and guidance on business analysis processes and procedures to internal and external customers that will have institutional or national impact, using judgement and creativity to suggest the most appropriate course of action where appropriate, and ensuring complex and conceptual issues are understood.
* Take responsibility for resolving issues independently within the programme office where they fall within set role objectives.
* Investigate and analyse specific processes or issues within the projects identified within the National Programme, creating recommendation reports, supported by advances within the programme office.
* Establish working relationships with key contacts, developing appropriate communication links with the programme partners, teams and outside bodies as required.
* Be resilient with confidence and energy, with the ability to constructively challenge thinking whilst maintaining rapport.
* Able to disseminate and articulate information and be methodical, detailed and accurate.
* Able to demonstrate application of a wide range of business analysis tools and techniques to gather and analyse information, where robust analysis is key to understanding business options.
* Create specific working groups from colleagues across the programme to achieve the project objectives.
* Plan and deliver specific small scale projects, coordinating and supervising project teams created as needed.
* Develop and deliver identified training within the programme.
* Undertake a variety of administrative duties to support the department.
* Instruct and guide other employees across the University about the programme and its objectives.

Essential Criteria
Qualifications and Education
* Degree/NVQ 4 or equivalent Professional membership/experience (BCS, Lean, Six Sigma, APM, PRINCE2).
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
* Substantial experience of working within a project management discipline using business analysis techniques.
* Able to demonstrate professional knowledge of business analysis to give advice and guidance to internal and external customers.
* Proven experience in developing new processes and procedures.
Customer Service, Communication and Team Working
* Ability to communicate conceptually detailed and complex information effectively, collaboratively and professionally with a wide range of people.
* Evidence of ability to explore customers’ needs and adapt the service accordingly to ensure a quality service is delivered.
* Proven ability to develop networks in order to contribute to long term developments.
Planning, Analysis and Problem Solving
* Evidence of ability to solve expansive problems using initiative and creativity; identify and propose both practical and innovative solutions.
* Evidence of demonstrable knowledge of key advances within specialist discipline.
* Evidence of ability to undertake and deliver specific projects and supervise short term project teams.
Desirable Criteria
* Postgraduate/Professional qualification.
* PRINCE2 Foundation JD Business Analyst B6.
* APMG Agile Business Analysis Foundation, or equivalent.
* BCS Business Analysis Practice and Requirements Engineering, or equivalent.
* Experience of delivery of data improvement projects.
* Experience of working in a Higher Education or NHS environment.
* Fluency in Welsh, written and oral.
