We’re looking for an Assistant Systems Administrator to help maintain and enhance our Asset Management Information System (AMIS), ensuring it remains agile and efficient as we prepare to launch two exciting new routes on the West Midlands Metro.
You will assume responsibility for developing and extending the application of the AMIS to align with business objectives and provide essential support with relevant document administration.
In addition to this as our Assistant Systems Administrator you will assume responsibility for:
Asset Data Input and Maintenance:
* Input newly handed-over assets into the Asset Management Information System (AMIS) for both the Wednesbury Brierley Hill Extension (WBHE) and Birmingham Eastside Extension (BEE).
* Input all Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) activities for these assets.
* Ensure PPM schedules are correctly structured and assigned to assets.
* Collaborate with Infrastructure Engineers and Asset Handover Coordinators to verify asset data against physical conditions (e.g., checking pole numbers and equipment IDs against locations).
* Work with maintenance teams to cross-check data accuracy before assets go live.
Operational Support:
* Maintain the AMIS asset registers for both WBHE and BEE.
* Hold regular communication sessions with stakeholders regarding asset register updates.
Produce monthly reports with Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to track progress, including:
* Monthly tracking of asset records against expected totals.
* Ensuring 100% accuracy in asset details (location, classification, unique IDs).
* 100% of assets entered into AMIS at least 2 months before service launch.
* 100% of PPM schedules configured at least 1 month prior to service launch.
System Testing and Collaboration:
* Work closely with Maintenance Planners to test AMIS functionality, ensuring accurate work instructions and timely alerts for asset interventions.
To be successful in this role, it is essential that you have:
* A good level of IT Knowledge alongside a working understanding of business processes,
* Excellent interpersonal skills.
* Excellent logical and analytical thinking skills.
It would be great if you had:
* Knowledge of AMIS systems such as Agility.
* Knowledge of MS Sharepoint for document management and information control.
* A higher education qualification or equivalent qualifications.
