Our Engineering Research and Development department (ER&D) is a fast-growing function within Tata Technologies Limited that is assembled to work on exciting projects globally for multiple customers. It comprises highly specialized engineers across Automotive, Aerospace and Industrial Heavy Machinery. Role Summary Tata Groups recently established global battery enterprise pioneer the design, development and manufacturing of batteries for electric vehicles (EVs) at our state-of-the-art gigafactory in the UK The successful IT Engineer will be based on site in Oxfordshire and will be responsible for directly supporting all stakeholders by delivering a first-class IT function to the business. Area of responsibility: Managing IT services effectively within a structured framework. Incident management - Provide IT Infra support which includes, end user, Servers, and Network Able to set up and test desktop computer peripherals and perform the system changes adhered to organizational policies. Diagnose and resolve basic server-related issues, escalating complex problems to other engineers when necessary. Provide hands & Feet support to Infra teams during critical upgrades & escalation (End user management & Service experience) Handling & supporting Audits. Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues Knowledge & Experience: Experience in servers, networks, engineering applications and desktop support Strong knowledge on Networks mainly on OSI model Must have knowledge in Active Directory and its functions. Fair knowledge of installation, configuration, and maintenance of server hardware and software (Server maintenance). Good IT knowledge, especially on desktops (End User Computing), network, and servers. Excellent problem-solving, customer management and communication skills (verbal and written in English language). Good knowledge on engineering applications and licensing. Fair understanding of overall SLA and metrics and means to meet them. Familiarity with remote desktop applications and help desk software.
