Scheme Underwriter – Salary of up to £40,000

Aviva currently has an exciting opportunity for a Scheme Underwriter who thinks outside the box with a positive, can-do attitude.
As a Schemes Underwriter, you will demonstrate expertise in Scheme Management to meet customer demand, achieve profitable growth annually whilst maintaining underwriting integrity, and ensuring adherence to the governance framework. You will be responsible for the profit/loss, revenue, capability, broker/customer relationships, and engagement of the Schemes Team.
A bit about the job:
1. Support Schemes Underwriting Lead and deliver initiatives and/or experiments to improve system performance across the business.
2. Develop, build, and strengthen relationships with aligned customers/brokers, providing technical support and assistance.
3. Proactively understand what matters to the customer/broker and how that fits with our plans and strategies.
4. Ensure “Good Customer Outcomes” are delivered through continuous review of the scheme proposition and core wording, ensuring that the proposition continues to meet customers’ expectations.
5. Work will largely be a combination of Broker referrals and Scheme Management (immediate) and/or tactical (short to mid-term), but you will also be expected to engage in longer-term strategy building to support the execution of the Aviva Group strategy.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
1. Proven experience within Motor and/or Property & Liability underwriting.
2. Ability to handle complex risks and technical referrals, coaching Scheme underwriters on finding the right solution and presenting effectively to brokers.
3. Ability to analyse risks, communicate, and present effectively to brokers and/or customers.
4. Leading difficult conversations with Brokers and confident in challenging situations.
What you’ll get for this role:
1. Salary of up to £40,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications).
2. Bonus opportunity - 8% of annual salary. Actual amount depends on your performance and Aviva’s.
