An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Policy Officer post within the Overseas Healthcare Services (OHS) team. The post holder will be responsible for reviewing processes and procedures, highlighting areas of improvement and supporting findings with data where appropriate. The post holder will be expected to work collaboratively with Senior policy Officers, DHSC, Information Governance, HMRC, DWP, the National Crime Agency and other internal and external stakeholders. It is an office-based post, however in line with the NHSBSA's current hybrid working arrangements; successful candidates will have the option to work from home or the office but will be required to attend the office when requested. As well as reviewing content on internal websites, templates and letters. The team will also help to resolve complex queries from our operational teams. Among other tasks, a Policy Officer will also be responsible for collating and responding to Freedom of Information requests, Subject Access Requests, Parliamentary Questions and Right to Erasure requests. The team is also responsible for reporting data breaches, assisting with fraud referrals, finding and reporting misleading websites and enforcing the UK GHIC trade mark. A key element of the role involves working with internal and external stakeholders, so good communication skills are required. Job Description In this role, you are accountable for : Responsible for the accessing systems to collect, collate, analyse and retain all forms of quality, financial and management information. Ability to handle large datasets with a clear understanding of how to clean, process, analyses and visualise data. Investigate and respond to policy queries across OHS. When required seeks guidance and confirmation from Department of Health and Social Care policy colleagues. Communicate policy and procedural changes across the service area, providing instruction and delivering briefing sessions for managers and operations staff where necessary. Works collaboratively with the NHSBSA communications team to create and maintain accurate content for the intranet and the departments public facing internet. Responds to requests from independent/third party organisations to review content of websites and publications. Work collaboratively across OHS to prepare the necessary information for Parliamentary Questions, Freedom of Information requests and Subject Access Requests. Undertake analysis, interpretation and presentation of complex data and information to support decision making for OHS. Ensures the information provided is accessible and understandable to a wide audience and conforms to high standards. Produces fully documented information and analyses to satisfy both routine and ad hoc reports to senior management within OHS when required, in line with business needs. Produces fully documented procedures and articles from pre-approved processes. Works flexibly with colleagues utilising their relevant skills and experience. Responsible for positively achieving team and personal objectives in accordance with ORO. Will undertake such other duties as may be required commensurate with grade, training and experience.
