Field Service Engineer
Location: Widnes, Cheshire (Covering the North of England)
Commutable from: Liverpool, Manchester, Blackburn, Barnsley, and surrounding areas
Salary: £27,000 - £30,000 per annum + Company Vehicle
Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Field Service Engineer to join our team, based in Widnes, Cheshire. This role covers the North of England, with occasional travel further afield. As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for the servicing, repair, and installation of medical equipment in a variety of settings, including hospitals, nursing homes, and private homes.
Working Hours: Typically 8:30 am to 4:45 pm, Monday to Friday. Flexibility required based on business needs.
Holidays: 4 weeks per year, plus statutory bank holidays.
Key Responsibilities
1. Servicing & Repair: Maintain and repair a wide range of medical equipment, such as profiling beds, dynamic air mattresses, hoists, slings, bathing equipment, specialist seating, power chairs, and wheelchairs.
2. Testing & Compliance: Carry out LOLER examinations, PAT testing, and safety checks on all equipment.
3. Installation & Delivery: Deliver and install medical equipment at customer sites, ensuring safety and functionality.
4. Customer Service: Provide excellent customer support, ensuring all tasks are completed professionally and efficiently, leaving customers satisfied and informed.
Key Tasks
1. Carry out all tasks safely, adhering to company procedures and health & safety regulations.
2. Ensure all paperwork is completed accurately and promptly, maintaining compliance with company standards.
3. Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction, building strong, lasting relationships with clients.
4. Promote company services and identify new opportunities for equipment sales.
5. Keep company equipment and your company vehicle in good working order, ensuring readiness for use at all times.
Qualifications & Requirements
1. Proven experience in a similar role (e.g., Field Service Engineering, Medical Equipment Repair, or related roles).
2. Strong technical skills and problem-solving abilities.
3. Full UK driving license and ability to travel across the region.
4. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
5. Familiarity with LOLER regulations and PAT testing is desirable but not essential.
