The main duties of the job are to provide comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to clinical staff using a range of secretarial procedures in accordance with the processes. To contribute to the effective delivery of patient care, through knowledge of consultant practice and hospital systems. It can be a very busy and demanding area to work but is rewarding in the difference it makes to patients.
As the Pathway Administrator/Outpatient Booker you will be responsible for the management of outpatient and inpatient bookings, waiting lists, you will deal with general admin duties of the office. You will need to have excellent communications skills and be able to work in a calm, logical and methodical way. You must be able to multi-task whilst dealing with frequent interruptions, whilst always maintaining patient confidentiality. You must be confident, diplomatic and able to work in a busy environment with a pleasant and caring disposition. You will be required to have a good level of education and have some experience and knowledge of the NHS.
Working within a dedicated specialty to facilitate the smooth running of the patient journey by ensuring co-ordinated and streamlined administrative processes revolve around the patient and their individual needs.
