Main purpose of role:
The job holder will provide accurate and timely financial information to senior management, enabling informed decision-making. They will work independently and proactively on key responsibilities, under the guidance of the Finance Director, with a focus on driving process improvements.
This is an on-site role.
Main responsibilities:
1. Oversee preparation of sales forecast & present to SLT to ensure ops are aligned to achieve the forecast
2. Prepare and review department costs with SLT, including headcount and forecasting future months costs
3. Prepare and post month end stock reconciliation including postings to support 606
4. Support with month end process including trade accruals, contract maintenance/accrual and prepayment schedules
5. Support with preparation of monthly accounts including Profit and Loss and Balance Sheet & ensure reporting deadlines are met.
6. Manage the import process including compliance checks & liaising with HMRC on queries
7. Manage the IPR process including submitting BOD to HMRC on a quarterly basis
8. Support AP with queries
9. Manage and support the Trainee Accountant & Assistant Accountant with their development
10. Prepare the overheads budget and review with senior management
11. Support the FD with the overall budget process
12. Support with annual financial audit including responsibility for revenue recognition testing
13. Identify self-development needs for future performance
14. Undertake such tasks and to manage specific internal or ad hoc projects as and when required to meet department and business needs and within the scope of the job-holder's capabilities and responsibilities
15. Sit on operational leadership team, providing financial advice and support
16. Deputise for FD when they are not available including attending senior management meetings on their behalf and communicating with corporate finance
Qualifications:
1. CIMA/ACCA Qualified
2. Previous experience within a finance environment, preferably within manufacturing
3. Previous use of an accounting software package essential, SAGE preferred.
4. Strong IT skills, advanced MS Excel (pivot tables, charts and formulae)
5. Must possess excellent communication coupled with a strong attention to detail and superb time management abilities.
6. Must also be self-motivated and have a creative and flexible outlook towards continuous improvement.
