The Lochgelly service currently provides care to 10 supported people who live in Lochgelly and the surrounding areas. Some people live in their own homes while others stay with their families.
Getting to know the people we support is at the heart of what we do, working with them to learn about how they want us to support them. Support can range from a walk round Loch Ore Meadows, help with finances, a cup of tea at the Lochgelly centre, shopping, helping with personal care or going to the bingo. There are regular get-togethers in the community for people to meet and enjoy themselves.
Shifts can range from 3 hours to 16 hours and the service operates 7 days a week. There are really good travel links in and around Lochgelly with local bus routes and a train station. We have an established staff team to guide and support new people joining the team.
If you are enthusiastic about supporting people to live their best lives then apply now to join our team!
Your main duties will include but not be limited to:
1. Working with colleagues as part of an effective and efficient team to support vulnerable people.
2. Communicate and work well with our supported people to provide individual care and maintain appropriate relationships.
3. Being responsible in supporting individuals throughout the activities, giving positive feedback and encouragement.
What is a Relief Support Worker?
As a Relief Support Worker you will carry out all the same duties while on shift as our Support Workers. As you do not have contracted hours it gives you the flexibility to only pick up shifts when it suits you.
*Please note: Relief work is on an as and when basis to cover for sickness absence, study leave and other staff contingencies. We cannot guarantee you regular or continued use as the need for relief staffing changes from time to time.
