Mobile Commercial Gas Engineer
Location: Stoke on Trent
Salary: Up to £38,000
CBW are currently looking to recruit a Mobile Commercial Gas Engineer for a leading facilities provider. The role involves delivering all gas-associated planned and reactive works throughout a commercial contract based in Stoke. An enhanced DBS check is essential for this position.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Fault finding and repair of gas-fired boiler plant & heating systems.
2. Carry out regular planned maintenance on gas assets.
3. Provide lifecycle & defect reports relating to gas elements.
4. Provide regular updates to the helpdesk on the progress of all types of work orders.
5. Support other engineering disciplines.
6. Proactive communication with site staff to obtain access permits and progress updates.
7. Day-to-day management of Planned Preventative Maintenance tasks.
8. Responsible for the day-to-day organisation of works in order to meet the contractual agreement.
9. Maintain records pertaining to the PPM schedule.
10. Management of own Health & Safety and those who are also on site.
Person Specification:
1. Recognised gas qualification to City & Guilds/NVQ level, both Commercial and Domestic.
2. Sound awareness of risk assessment and working safely with equipment.
3. Sound knowledge of Health & Safety.
4. Strong customer focus with experience of delivering high standards of customer service.
5. Previous FM experience within a PFI environment would be an advantage.
6. IPAF (MEWP) qualification desirable but not essential.
7. Full driving licence required.
8. Approved and formal apprenticeship served in relevant skill area or a minimum of 4 years relevant and practical experience within a similar industry.
9. Sound knowledge of Health & Safety including ISO 9001 & 14,001.
10. Ability to measure, work to plans (method statements), read technical diagrams and communicate, present and report technical information as appropriate to trade/skill.
11. Gas tightness testing and purging.
12. Commercial & Domestic Gas Qualifications (Commercial burner controls + combustion & commissioning + domestic).
