Support Worker at TRI Torbay
Working hours: Full Time (37 Hours a week) Monday- Friday 9am-5pm
Location: Based in Torbay (TRI) – Shrublands House, 8 Morgan Avenue, Torbay, TQ2 5RS

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our team in Torbay as a Support Worker.
About the role
As a Support Worker, you'll play a crucial role in guiding individuals toward recovery, offering tailored support, and coordinating services for their well-being. If you're passionate about making a difference in people's lives, join us in this impactful position.
As a Support Worker, you will be responsible for:
* Provide practical help and emotional support to service users in line with their care plans and risk plans and alongside other professionals.
* Support individuals who engage with us for detoxification programmes.
* Deliver brief interventions to include duty roles and responsibilities via face to face and phone systems.
* Provide health and harm reduction advice, information and guidance to service users and staff, informally and formally through group-work and 1:1 sessions, including safer drinking, safer injecting and preventing and responding to overdose.
* Provide advice, information and guidance on specific substances including related risks, informally and formally through group work and 1:1 sessions.
* Deliver structured psychosocial interventions (using recognised and agreed theoretical models) via 1:1 and support the delivery of group-work sessions in collaboration with other more senior team members and specialist roles.
* Undertake risk assessment and risk management planning in consultation with senior colleagues and partner agencies as appropriate.
* Adhere to the principles, policies and procedures of effective safeguarding for vulnerable adults and children.
* Work collaboratively with key partners and colleagues to achieve the best health and well-being outcomes for individuals.
* Work as part of a team with alliance colleagues to provide a vast and varied treatment offer to our service users.
About you
Whether you come from a strong background in the substance misuse sector, have experience in mental health support, have a history in the criminal justice field, or possess a relevant academic background, we welcome you to join our diverse team. We believe that various experiences contribute to our comprehensive support and care mission.
Specifically, we are seeking individuals with one or more of the following professional experiences:
* Substance misuse background
* Mental health background
* Criminal justice background
* A relevant academic background such as Criminology, Psychology, Law or Sociology
* A strong portfolio of volunteering in a similar role
* Case management experience and the ability to manage expectations in this emotionally demanding role are highly valued for their contributions to our mission of consistent, high-quality care
