Teaching Assistant - Twickenham
Start: ASAP - Mainstream Secondary School
We are currently working with a mainstream secondary school in Twickenham. They are looking for an SEN teaching assistant to work with SEN students aged 11-16. The role may involve occasional personal care; the ideal candidate will have a support worker/care background, trained in using hoists and wheelchair handling, as the role involves moving the student from wheelchair to chair. Good behaviour management and experience working with SEN pupils in a school setting are desirable. The Teaching Assistant will be providing support to target their specific needs.
The school is located close to a mainline train station and various local bus routes. Parking is available on site.
Key skills and experience needed:
1. SEN Experience
2. Strong behaviour management skills
3. Trained/open to personal care and wheelchair handling
4. University degree or A Level qualification
5. Previous support work within a school or other child-related experience
6. Professional manner
7. Enthusiasm and friendly approach
8. Experience or knowledge within special educational needs
