Currently, we have an excellent opportunity for a Deputy Ward Manager/Charge Nurse to join a dedicated and compassionate team within a leading provider of adult eating disorder services. This role is ideal for someone with strong leadership skills and a passion for providing high-quality, personalised care within a supportive and therapeutic environment.
Salary: £40,000
Position: Deputy Ward Manager/Charge Nurse
Hours: Full-time (37.5 hours per week)
Setting: Eating Disorders Unit
Location: Manchester, SK8
Your key responsibilities will be:
1. Assist the Ward Manager in the day-to-day management and supervision of the ward.
2. Supervise and manage a team of registered and unregistered staff.
3. Implement and maintain best practices across the ward environment.
4. Support service changes and improvements, contributing to positive outcomes for patients.
5. Take responsibility for the clinical direction of the ward and service delivery.
6. Support the delivery of personalised care, ensuring individual needs are met.
7. Work closely with the Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) to ensure cohesive care.
8. Implement and evaluate therapeutic interventions within patient care plans.
9. Ensure that care and treatment meet regulatory and clinical standards.
10. Foster a culture of learning and development within the team.
11. Actively participate in clinical governance processes to maintain high-quality care.
12. Monitor the well-being and progress of patients, ensuring effective support.
13. Contribute to service development and improvement initiatives.
14. Provide clinical supervision and mentorship to staff.
15. Support staff training and professional development, ensuring compliance with regulations.
For this role, we’re looking for someone who has:
1. Active NMC registration with revalidation.
2. Trained Mentor and clinical supervision experience.
3. At least 3 years post-registration experience in Mental Health services.
4. Evidence of Continued Professional Development (CPD).
5. Strong communication and leadership skills.
